Camping in the Northwest? Check Out Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park
It's definitely on our bucket list to visit the mighty and majestic Sequoias. After all, there is something to be said about having a great reminder of how small we are in this massive world! Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park is located in California’s Sierra Nevada mountain range. Whether you're looking to go backcountry camping or prefer a more “permanent” setup—there is something for everyone at the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park. You can backpack across the forest and take in the amazing views, hike into the wilderness and explore nature in a different way, visit Crystal Cave, or horseback ride through the park! Plan a Trip to Crystal Cave
If you are planning a family camping trip to Crystal Cave, The 2018 season runs from May 25 to September 30th. Crystal Cave is a marble cavern. A half-mile loop trail leads through the cave and there's also a steep half-mile walk to and from the cave parking area to the entrance, so be sure to wear shoes suitable for walking. The cave has some fragile formations, so the only way to visit the cave is on a guided tour and the tours are suitable for all ages. Tickets can be bought online or at one of the visitor’s centers.
Spending time in nature can be a refreshing vacation that is much needed for you and your family to de-stress. It is also the perfect opportunity to take a break from screen time (and if that sounds sort of scary because you don’t remember what it is like to be phone free for a day, let alone a few hours, then you definitely want to look into that!), which can do wonders for deepening your relationship with yourself and your family. There are even multiple dining areas and restaurants located around the park for you to sit down and unwind.
